Getting started
Yes. The programme runs from beginners to advanced, and children are grouped by level so nobody is thrown in at the deep end.
Ages 4 to 18. The little ones learn through stories and games; older players work on real tournament chess.
Not for class. Boards and pieces are provided. A board at home helps a lot with practice between Saturdays.
Saturdays
Every Saturday: a morning session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon session from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Children can come to one or both.
The Jamaica Association for Children with Learning Disabilities (JACLD), 7 Leinster Road, Kingston 5, beside St. Hugh's High School at Cross Roads.
A water bottle, a snack and a pencil. Everything else is at the venue.

Fees & registration
A single Saturday is J$3,000 for one session or J$4,500 for both. Monthly membership is J$10,000 for one session each Saturday or J$15,000 for both.
